Bible Christian Mission – Africa (BCMA), an integral part of the global Bible Centered Ministries International (BCM) family, traces its roots back to the ministry of Miss Traber in 1936 and its expansion into East Africa in the 1950s. So much has happened over the last 89 years of ministry existence. This booklet offers insight into the core mission and activities of BCMA in Uganda, while also looking towards future focus. We believe that God orchestrates specific times and seasons, each presenting unique opportunities for His Kingdom work. Discerning these times and seasons enables the body of Christ to align itself with His will and purpose. We are convinced that God, in His perfect plan, has established this ministry, among others, to help address existing needs in reaching children and strengthening the Church. Recognizing that no individual, regardless of their abilities or gifts, can accomplish God’s work alone, we embrace partnership as central to His Kingdom. This necessitates a genuine desire to see His will fulfilled.

BCMA’s operations are built upon two primary and interconnected focuses: Reaching Children and Strengthening the Church Worldwide. Recognizing the crucial “4-14 Window,” we implement a variety of strategic programs designed to evangelize and disciple the next generation. This involves diverse initiatives and approaches. With the opportunities around us for the extension of God’s Kingdom, we must therefore ask ourselves the essential questions: What is God doing? Where is He working? What is my role in His work? In Luke 10, Jesus, the Master Teacher, sends out the seventy two disciples to experience ministry firsthand. He made a significant statement: “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” He instructs us to pray for laborers, for the lost souls are plenty around us.

There are various types of workers in the harvest field. While we may sometimes be concerned about the quality and nature of those serving, several passages in Jesus’ teachings offer comfort to us in the mission field, and one of them is the parable of the wheat and tares. This passage assures us that we should focus on the task assigned to us based on our calling and a clear understanding of our responsibilities. The ultimate outcome will reveal all the intentions of the heart of man since the counterfeit has always operated alongside the Kingdom of God. We need to fully grasp the principles of His Kingdom and build upon the foundation already established, and keep focus.

The overwhelming brokenness around us and the values of the world’s systems can easily lead us to believe that God is inactive or unconcerned. This is a false notion. Since the fall of humanity, God has been and continues to be at work in our world. We are called to join Him and diligently fulfill our role in this season. We invite you to read about how God is using this ministry as an instrument in this season, and it is our sincere desire to serve alongside you as part of the body of Christ.
